Transportation Guide to Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, Kaohsiung, Taiwan

From Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
1. Airport MRT + HSR + Taxi:

  • Take the Airport MRT from Terminal 1 (A12) or Terminal 2 (A13) to Taoyuan HSR Station (A18) (approx. 20 minutes).

  • Take the HSR from Taoyuan HSR Station to Zuoying HSR Station (approx. 1 hour 40 minutes).

  • From Zuoying Station, take a taxi directly to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (approx. 30 minutes, around TWD 700-900).

From Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)
1. Metro + HSR + Taxi:

  • Take the Taipei Metro (Wenhu Line) from Songshan Airport Station to Taipei Main Station (approx. 15 minutes).

  • Transfer to the HSR at Taipei Main Station and travel to Zuoying HSR Station (approx. 1 hour 35 minutes).

  • From Zuoying Station, take a taxi directly to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (approx. 30 minutes, around TWD 700-900).

From Kaohsiung International Airport (KHH)
1. Taxi (Recommended):

  • Take a direct taxi from Kaohsiung International Airport to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (approx. 40 minutes, around TWD 1,000-1,200).

2. Metro + Taxi:

  • Take the Kaohsiung Metro (Red Line) from Kaohsiung International Airport Station to Zuoying HSR Station (approx. 15 minutes).

  • From Zuoying Station, take a taxi to the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum (approx. 30 minutes, around TWD 700-900).

✅ Recommendation:

  • From Zuoying HSR Station and Kaohsiung International Airport, taking a taxi is the most convenient and direct way.

  • Taxi drivers in the area are generally familiar with the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum, but you may also show them the name in Chinese:

Kaohsiung International Airport of Taiwan is located No.2, Jhongshan 4th Rd., Siaogang District, Kaohsiung City 81252, Taiwan, from airport to 85 Sky Tower Hotel (Conference Venue & Headquarter Hotel) is around 20-30 mins by taxi. There are more transportation information at airport website..

• Taoyuan International Airport (TPE)
Taoyuan International Airport of Taiwan is located No.9 Terminal South Road, Dayuan Township. The airport website offers comprehensive transportation information including ticket prices from Taoyuan International Airport to Songshan Airport or Taipei Railway Station.

• Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)
Situated in Metropolitan Taipei, the Taipei International Airport is the hub of domestic air transportation. It is easily accessible from the town centers.

Taiwan High Speed Rail

The Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSPR) connects major cities in western Taiwan between Taipei and Kaohsiung. Opened on January 5, 2007, the 345 Km-long rail system has become an important part of Taiwan's transportation network.

• Zuoying High Speed Station

External connection. The Zuoying High Speed Rail Station shares the same complex with the Taiwan Railway Station and its metro station. The Zuoying Railway Station is conveniently located in the city transportation network. The station is included in all major public transportation system.

• Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station
Address: No. 6, Section 1, Gaotie North Road, Zhongli, Taoyuan Prefecture
Hours: 06:20 - 23:45 every day.

External connection. The Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station shares the same complex with the Taoyuan International Airport metro station (MRT A18 Station). Passengers can transfer from high speed rail directly to the airport metro system.

• Taipei High Speed Station

Taoyuan Airport MRT Line serves as the extension to the national gate –Taoyuan International Airport. Taxi
 Taxis on the north side of the arrival area of Terminal 1 and the south side of the arrival area of Terminal 2 of Taoyuan International Airport are certified by the Airport Police Bureau and provide first-rate taxi services.
Taxis are available 24 hours a day.


Kaohsiung Metro

The system operates according to a spoke-hub distribution paradigm, with 3 lines running radically outward from central Kaohsiung. The metro system operates from 6 am to midnight daily. Clean and air-conditioned trains arrive every five minutes. A “Single-journey Ticket” costs between NT$20 to NT$60 depends on distance. Smoking, eating, drinking or gum chewing are strictly prohibited on all MRT trains.
